Hi all,
This is a question for all you tone experts out there.
Just like the rest of you I imagine, I spend a lot of time flicking through Mikes "How to play *insert name here*" section.
Well I took up the Cowboys from hell challenge, and while I have pretty much got the playing of it sorted, playing along just doesn't sound right.
The sounds Dimebag gets is very unique, you have a choppy sort of Chugging open E sound in the background that sounds like a Phaser is controlling it, and
the main riff itself also has something more than just your basic distortion.
If anyone has managed to re-create this effect, or has some ideas worth trying then please post them up.
