How's it all going out there? Names Austin, been called Knightmare since 15. Now at 30 I embrace it more than run from it. I'm a all over the place kinda guy with music and gear. The song that hooked me to guitar was master of puppets. Started on a harmony strat copy and a crate amp. Currently rebuilding my collection of guitars as 5 were stolen few years back 😤. Currently I still have my harmony strat that I tossed a dimarzio humbucker in the bridge. Set of grovers replaced the stock tuners. Then repainted it black with a gold mist like a reverse burst. A charvel strat that I have no idea what it is but I have figured out it had a odd Jackson jt6 locking bridge. Humbucker bridge and 1 single in the neck but it's slanted like a typical strat bridge pickup. Keeping them company is a dean 4.0 vendetta in red. Awesome neck through with a good floyd rose bridge. Stock dean pickups are gonna be swapped soon for something a little more aggressive and clearer. Parked next to that is a schecter C1 platinum with emgs and string through. Nice smoke satin finish and silver hardware. Since you have to have them there's a epiphone les paul standard plus that's kinda relaxing at a E flat tuning for all the Alice in Chains goodness. Topping off is a guitar I never thought I would like. A 2004 50th anniversary deluxe strat in sunburst and gold hardware. Tweed case with a orange interior. All the case candy. Guy bought it and never used it. It's mainly a investment piece but it gets some play time cause it does have that sound. Amp wise we have a fender hot rod deluxe with a tweed and brown leather pushing a Jensen speaker. Never thought I would like a fender amp but again can't argue with the tone it creates. There's a all original peavey 5150 2x12 combo hanging out on top of a randall warhead 2x12 that was a gigging amp so she's not so pretty but still pounds. When the neighbors get under my skin it's big bro the warhead X2 comes out. At 300 watts of solid state power it will get my point across. Latest collected piece is a mesa boogie mark v 35watt head and 2x12 recto cab in a red leather with brown leather corner guards and tan grill cloth. Most have the wicker but not a fan so glad it's a actual fabric. Lastly is what I believe to be my biggest gamble in gear. To my knowledge and the rep at the time, I have the only Carvin V3 full stack in green tolex with the 13 ply upgraded cabs and v30 speakers with all the bells and whistles. At 100 watts it can be scaled down to 50 and 20 I believe but it's just sounds so good full breath. It has cleans that will match maybe even better the fender amp. Has the crunch and grit to match the 5150. With a active pick up guitar or a hot humbucker it gets a heavy tone that I can't reproduce with any other amp so far. It's truly a hidden gem of a amp I think. I'm trying to broaden my playing from more than just heavy rock. Trying to toss in some ZZ Top or CCR. To some 90s grunge like Alice in Chains and soundgarden. To some softer tunes like mad seasons river of deceit or candlebox far behind. Have a kick ass day and hope to see others along for the ride and watch everyone's progress. R.I.P DIMEBAG🤘🏻
